Assistant Analyst

The M&E Assistant Analyst is responsible for a diverse range of administrative and analytical duties to support members of the department. The M&E Department manages the reporting and analysis of performance of our partners.

Reporting and relationships:
The Assistant Analyst will report to the Director of Monitoring and Evaluation and will interact closely with program staff and others within the organization

Availability:
The Assistant Analyst will be expected to work for 37.5 hours per week plus additional hours as necessary to get the job done. This particular position is temporary and will be for 4 months to October 2008.

Essential Job Functions:
• Update Quarterly Report Timing schedule to check on the timely reporting of partners and tracking of delays for appropriate follow-up by the Program staff;
• Thoroughly study and understand the SEEP FRAME Tool as will be trained in order to understand partner performance reports through the key indicators analyzed in the trend and variance analyses in the SEEP FRAME Tool and assist the Financial Analysts with financial analysis tasks in respect of partner performance;
• Assist in the preparation of the reports of covenants tracking as required by CMAC (Capital Management and Advisory Center) in respect of partners with Growth Guarantee financing;
• Familiarize with the PIP (Partner Investment Portfolio) database and the report generation functions as will be trained in order to generate PIP reports, the portfolio tracker, invoices, late notices and others as required;
• Familiarize with GF Strategic Goals and the updates required in order to present them at the Quarterly Review Forum;
• Prepare relevant data, documentation, and the updates required as they relate to the GF Strategic Goals, for presentation in the Quarterly Review Forum;
• Assist the financial analysts with other administrative functions as need be;
• Maintains department calendar.
• Prepares requests for payment and expense reimbursements as may be requested by the M&E team;
• Carry out other administrative duties as required for M & E Department.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Proven organizational and human relations skills in a cross-cultural environment.
• A proven team player with strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with quantitative information.
• Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines, and work under pressure.
• Excellent writing skills.
• The Assistant Analyst must be flexible & quickly overcome the learning curve.
• Ability to work on a number of small projects simultaneously.

Education and Experience:
• Bachelors degree in business accounting or economics; Masters degree in related disciplines preferred
• 3 or more years work experience in accounting or finance-related role.

Physical and Environmental Conditions:
This position does not require unusual demands for physical effort. This position may occasionally require physical effort to lift and transport boxes weighing no more than 50 pounds.

Work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts that require normal safety precautions typical of places such as offices, meeting or training rooms, residences, or commercial vehicles; e.g., use of safe work place practices with office equipment, and/or avoidance of trips and falls, and observance of fire regulations and traffic signals.
