Fund Manager
Grameen Foundation’s Capital Management & Advisory Center seeks a Fund Manager experienced in emerging markets private equity/venture capital to manage a private equity fund focused on investment in poverty-focused microfinance institutions (MFIs). CMAC seeks to harness the resources of the financial markets to support rapid expansion in outreach to poor families by leading poverty-focused microfinance insittutions.
Essential Job Functions:
• Overseeing all aspects of the fund, including the fund’s investment and operations
• Sourcing investment opportunities
• Evaluating the social performance of target MFIs
• Conducting due diligence (financial, social, legal and regulatory) and risk analysis
• Structuring and negotiating investment terms
• Presenting transactions for approval to the Investment Committee
• Monitoring and reporting social impact
• Ensuring MRI’s continued growth and social mission
• Negotiating attractive exits
Required Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities:
• Excellent interpersonal and intercultural communication skills
• Knowledge of and passion for microfinance and the mission of Grameen Foundation
• Fluency in other languages is considered a plus
Education and Experience:
• MBA or master’s degree in economics/finance
• Eight or more years of work experience in private equity/venture capital in emerging markets with a demonstrated track record in capital-raising, investing, and investor relations
• Experience in microfinance, social performance and/or sustainable investing a plus
