Manager of Corporate Relations
The Manager of Corporate Relations will be responsible for strategic development, gift solicitation, and management of assigned new and ongoing corporate relationships on behalf of Grameen Foundation. The manager will also take the lead in cause-related marketing partnerships and will solicit major and annual gifts from large and small companies, including sponsorships for events and awards, and solicit support for educational programs and publications. S/he will assist the Deputy Director of Corporate Relations with prospect research, develop proposals and stewardship reports, and track and provide information on the corporate giving projections and results for development reports.
Reporting and relationships: The Manager of Corporate Relations will report to the Deputy Director of Corporate Relations.
Availability: The Manager of Corporate Relations is expected to work a typical work week of 37.5 hours plus additional hours as necessary to get the job done. The position will require travel within the US and may include overseas travel as well.
Essential Job Functions:
• Prospect research;
• Stewardship;
• Proposal development, writing and solicitation;
• Managing and developing strategies for corporate relationships;
• Nurturing organizational relationship; and,
• Assisting in overall development on an as-needed basis.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Knowledge and understanding of microcredit as an anti-poverty strategy;
• Demonstrated commitment to Grameen Foundation values;
• Demonstrated success in mobilizing resources from corporations and corporate foundations;
• Knowledge and understanding of financial services industry preferred;
• A proven team player;
• Excellent writing skills;
• Excellent presentation skills;
• Excellent organizational and human relations skills in a cross-cultural environment;
• Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines, and work gracefully under pressure.
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree and minimum of five years related experience;
• Work experience with a microfinance institution or organization a plus
Physical and Environmental Conditions:
This position does not require unusual demands for physical effort. This position may occasionally require physical effort to lift and transport boxes weighing no more than 50 pounds.
Work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts that require normal safety precautions typical of places such as offices, meeting or training rooms, residences, or commercial vehicles; e.g., use of safe work place practices with office equipment, and/or avoidance of trips and falls, and observance of fire regulations and traffic signals.
