China Initiative Intern
Reporting and Relationships: The Intern will report to the Regional Coordinator, Southeast & East Asia
Availability: The term of the position is September through December 2008 with flexibility for school schedules for start and end dates. The intern is expected to work a minimum of 37.5 hours per weeks, plus additional hours as necessary to complete his/her projects.
Essential Job Functions:
• Contribute to proposal preparation for fundraising
• Conduct industry research and landscape analysis that contributes to formulation of China strategy
• Supports Shanghai volunteers in participating in investment training for MFIs; contributes to curriculum development
• Supports localization of social performance training materials
• Support communications with three partner organizations in China
• Other projects assigned as needed
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Some knowledge about microfinance
• Fluency in Mandarin Chinese spoken and written(native speaker preferred)
• Strong research and writing skills
Education Preferences: Master’s student preferred
