HR (Generalist) Intern

Reporting and Relationships: The Intern will report to the Director of Human Resources.

Availability: The position is for Fall 2008 with flexibility for school schedules. The intern is expected to work a minimum of 37.5 hours per weeks, plus additional hours as necessary to complete his/her projects.

Essential Job Functions:
• Complete a feasibility study for HRIS. This includes identifying products, vendors and distributors.
• Designing HR forms and information for the GF intranet.
• Assist HR Generalist with organization of Employee Orientation programs and material.
• Assist with the coordination of updating Employee Handbook.
• Assist with daily, general and entry level HR functions, which include data management, EEO, compensation and employment.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Good communication skills(verbal and written); outgoing and articulate
• Self starter and organized to schedule and manage multiple activities in the same timeline
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications and general knowledge of Microsoft Operating System
• Highly organized and detail oriented
• Ability to work independently

Education Preferences: Candidates would have or be working towards completion of a BA/BS or MS degree in the field.
