HR Specialist (part-time, temporary)
Position Title: HR Specialist
Status: Part - Time/Temporary (2 – 3 month)

Job Summary: We are currently seeking a part time - temporary HR Specialist to lend support to the HR Department in DC and Seattle and perform a number of related tasks including: assistance with local and international recruitment, set up HRIS recruitment, support the establishment of new international Country Office systems, assistance on policy research and follow innovative ways to handle regular HR tasks.
Reporting and relationships: This role will report to the Director Human Resources (DC Office) and support the Director of International HR (GTC Office).
Availability: The HR Specialist will be expected to work up to 20 hours per week during peak periods.
Essential Job Functions
• Work on local and international recruitment and selection in coordination with the HR Team members. This includes creating job descriptions, making sure that the filing process for the new positions is complete, post new positions on job sites, conduct applicants screening and assist with long and short listing as needed.
• Conduct policy research and work on updates.
• Work on database establishing and maintaining for staff both in the US and abroad. This includes salary research and the ability to use specialized software as needed.
• Establish and maintain HR files, updating as each case progresses. The specialist will need to keep track of all existing and new jobs.
• Lend HR support to staff as needed.
• Perform other duties as needed
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Human resources background in employment law, policy administration, Organizational skills,
• Creative problem solving and ability to timely execute tasks
• Ability to work in within a small team
• Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and increasing work load
Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related fields
• Minimum of three to five years of human resource work. Experience working with a HRIS, NGOs/similar organizations and/or International recruitment experience a plus.
