Program Intern, Mifos Cloud Project

Position Title: PROGRAM INTERN – Mifos Cloud Project  

Status: Internship

Location: Seattle, Washington

Job Summary:  This internship is a unique opportunity to learn about microfinance, international business in developing countries, sales and marketing techniques, hosted software, and operations.

Reporting and relationships:  Reports to the Director Market Development.

Availability:  This is a full time internship with a standard work week of 37.5 hours.

Essential Job Functions

• Research, analysis, and support of customer discovery;

• Building of tools and documents to support marketing and sales for cloud;

• Research marketing and demand generation for the program;

• Support roll out of CRM for Mifos team; 

• Basic administrative tasks to support sales;

• Support efforts in Latin America (Spanish support);

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Projects to be completed during assignment

• Designated research projects, competitive analysis and customer feedback/surveys;

• Deliver a set of tools to be leverage for sales in designated countries;

• Deliver set projects to support Tech4 MF team with CRM;

• Other projects assigned as needed.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Deep commitment to GF’s mission and the eradication of poverty on a global basis;

• Excellent interpersonal skills to be able to conduct phone interviews with prospects;

• Excellent analytical skills, including experience with research and data analysis;

• Good communications skills (verbal and written): outgoing and articulate;

• Self starter and organized to schedule and manage multiple activities in the same timeline;

• Capacity to function effectively in cross cultural settings;

• Intermediate ability to use MS Word, Excel and power point;

• Strong interest/commitment to the community development field;

• Adaptable, keen to learn and an executer;

• Familiarity with Technology

Education and/or Experience

• Current student or recent graduate in International Development, Technology, Business;

• Some work experience would be a plus.

Physical and Environmental Conditions:

This position does not require unusual demands for physical effort.  This position may occasionally require physical effort to lift and transport boxes weighing no more than 50 pounds.

Work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts that require normal safety precautions typical of places such as offices, meeting or training rooms, residences, or commercial vehicles; e.g., use of safe work place practices with office equipment, and/or avoidance of trips and falls, and observance of fire regulations and traffic signals.
