Job Summary: The Director of Institutional Relations will be responsible for strategic development, gift solicitation, and management of corporate, foundation and government relationships, and directing the institutional relations team on behalf of GF. The Director will lead the development staff, board members and volunteers in cultivating corporate, foundation and government donor relationships. Specifically, s/he will solicit major and annual gifts from companies, including sponsorships for events and awards, and solicit support from foundations and government sources.
Key to success in this role will be the ability to effectively manage complex internal and external relationships. The Director will coordinate these relationships with other staff to ensure that institutional relationships reach their full potential. The Director of Institutional Relations will report to the Vice President of External Affairs.
Availability: The Director of Institutional Relations is expected to work a typical work week of 40 hours plus additional hours as necessary to get the job done. The position requires travel within the US and abroad.
Essential Job Functions:
Supervision: The Director of Institutional Relations supervises the Institutional Relations team, currently a Manager of Institutional Relations and interns.
