Located in Sichuan Province, in western China, ARDPAS began its operations in 1998 with funding support from the Sichuan Provincial Government. Government interference impeded their operations, but by 2004 ARDPAS was able to get a fresh start using capital from Grameen Foundation partner Funding the Poor Cooperative, Grameen Trust, and Zhejiang Province. Currently, ARDPAS represents the current state of a majority of microfinance programs in China: small, with limited access to the training they would need to achieve their full potential. Grameen Foundation is honored to partner with ARDPAS to fill this gap in the Chinese microfinance market.

ARDPAS provides micro-loans at a minimum of 500 RMB (60 USD) to solidarity groups composed of low and mid-income individuals in both rural and urban areas.

Outreach:

ARDPAS serves 2,014 clients at its five branches: Batang, Guangna, Jintang, Langzhong and Tongjiang.

Grameen Foundation support:

Grameen Foundation is committed to helping ARDPAS fuel its growth in the long-term. GF intends to offer a series of technical assistance to ARDPAS, focusing on strengthening its business processes, streamlining operations and building greater internal controls.
