Milestones deserve extra attention. They’re a special point in our
lives when we celebrate an accomplishment that’s close to our hearts.
Thanks to the support of our donors, Grameen Foundation crossed a special
milestone at the end of last year: In just more than three years, through
our Pioneer Fund, we have invested $5.5 million in promising microfinance
institutions and social enterprises that serve more than 173,000 people in
harder-to-reach or underserved areas. To our supporters who helped make
this possible (are you one?)
– thank you.

in a rural village near Mombasa, Kenya. She supports her family by selling
charcoal, firewood and vegetables at the local market, but never had enough
money to take care of all of her children’s needs.
